PROFITS ON GOLD
Indian Sellers Reaping a Harvest EXPORTS TO BRITAIN (By Telegraph.— Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received Feb. 8, 7.80 p.m.) Calcutta, Feb. 3. There are few signs of a diminution of India’s gold exports. Each week the mail steamers leaving for Europe carry large cargoes of bullion. Sir George Schuster, Finance Member of tlie Executive Council, stated in the Assembly at Delhi that since Britain went off the gold standard, and up to the end of last year, India exported fourteen million .fine ounces of gold worth £85,762,930, bringing a profit to the Indian sellers of £21,538,461.
