MARLENE AND HER BOOKS
ATARLENE DIETRICH is not troubled by friends who want to borrow her books and who fail to return them. One pf Hollywood’s most widely-read stars. Miss Dietrich’s favourite authors are. mostly unknown to the book collectors of the film colony. In addition, few of them, have been translated into English, making it necessary for would-be borrowers to have a knowledge of the German language. While making her last film Miss Dietrich had a group of books in her portable dressing-room, among the authors being Rilke, Dostojewski, Rosthikle, Licholensky, Felfer and Erich Fastnar. The last-named is her favourite.
