CAMP AT PENROSE

Completion of Training The Penrose Boys’ Camp, in which a large number of city lads have been undergoing a month’s training in practical farm work, is now about to break up. There are forty-six boys ready to take up farm positions immediately ; of these, thirty-five are graded as “A” class and eleven as “B” class. The “A” class lads can milk and undertake general farm work. The “B” class lads require a little further experience to enable them to become proficient as milkers, but they are all good farm assistants. Mr. Len J. Greenberg, secretary of the Wellington Boy Employment Committee, who has been in charge of the camp, is acquainted with all the lads and is able to recommend them. The boys who passed through the camp will be available to take up positions at any time from Saturday next, and it is desirable that they should be placed immediately so that there will be no break in the continuity of the outlook so ably created in the camp. Farmers requiring the services of these boys with useful training should make application immediately to the Boy Employment Committee, care Y.M.C.A., Wellington. Mr. Greenberg will be in attendance on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next, and if any members of the farming community should be in town and desire to make a personal selection, he will be very pleased to render every assistance.
