Sir, —Your correspondent, “Health,” in your issue of January 21, in referring to tho above, was not alone in his evident uneasiness of mind. On the day following the appearance of “Health’s” letter a report from London stated that the death rate had increased to over 1000 ■weekly, and that the malady had spread to the Continent. While the death rate of the present epidemic has not so far assumed the proportions of that in 1918-1919, it has become serious enough to warrant extraordinary precautions being taken. I am one of many who Would like an assurance from the Minister of Health that immediate steps will bo taken to fumigate mails, luggage, etc.—l am, etc.. PREVENTION BETTER THAN CURE.
