CARNIVAL CONTINUES
Celebrations at Napier VARIETY OfUaTTRACTIONS By Telegraph—Pres* Association Napier, Jan. 24. The New Napier Carnival was continued to-day in perfect weather. The day’s proceedings included a bowling tournament, the official opening of France House at Eskdale by the Gover-nor-General, a children’s afternoon on Jlarlne Parade, a swimming carnival, open-air entertainment, and fireworks display. The town is still crowded with visitors, and all functions are largely attended. His Excellency performed the last of his official duties at the opening of France House this morning, and later procijfded to Tunahu. where they will be the guests of Sir Andrew Russell for a few days. They will then proceed Io Dannevirke. for a night, thence to the Wnifarapa district.
