Wellington Centre Meets GAMES FOR TROPHIES At the monthly meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre held in the Vi ellington club’s pavilion last evening, M . It was decided that the Manawatu Centre’s visit to Wellington take place on March 8, the only suitable date available in view of the Wellington Centres treasurer reported a credit balance of £l3l/6/2. The accounts in connection with the centre tournament had not yet been paid. It was decided to pay the greenkeepers concerned 10/- each their work in preparing the greens used in that tournament. , T In connection with 1 eterans Day, was decided that a memorial be established in honour of the late secretary of the centre, Mr. R. W. ShaUcrass, a report as to the form to be presented at thenext meeting by the president and Mr. H. u. Maver. Toward this memorial there is a sum of £5/2/- in hand, but it was agreed that the centre subsidise the amount. The committee appointed to make the arrangements are Messrs. Leahy, Kershaw, Bennett, and Casey. Permits were issued for one-day tournatnents for the Upper Hutt club on February 9 and the Island Bay club on 1 e rU A y resolution was passed thanking the various club and greenkeepers for the use of their greens for the centre s Christmas tournament. „ p Mention was made that Mr. H. u. Maver, president of the New Zealand Bowling Association, had presented medals to section winners in the recent Dominion tournament, a gracious action which was much appreciated by the winners.. Eastbourne-Hutt Banner The annua] friendly bowls competitions for tlie Eastbourne-Hutt banner were played at Eastbourne on Monday, and resulted Hutt Bowling Club retaining the banner.
