FARM STRIKE PLAN
Rejection in Alberta
Calgary, Jan. 20. Rejecting the farm strike proposal, the annual convention of the JJnited Farmers of Alberta to-day urged the creation of a national wheat board to control production and marketing and guarantee production costs to the farmers. The operation of a board for the 1933 crop was requested. Classified by a dozen delegates as far from silly, the strike proposal was given some support as a measure bringing to the attention of the Government the plight of Western agriculture, but it was deemed impracticable and offering too many advantages to agriculture in foreign countries, and the majority voted it down.
