POLICE PROMOTIONS

In succession to . Sub-Inspector T. Gibson, promoted from Auckland to be inspector in charge of Southland, Senior-Sergeant. J. Sweeney, of Hamilton, has been appointed Chief Detective in Auckland. Detective-Sergeant R. J. Issell, who has been police photographer and has also filled a position as fingerprint expert in the criminal investigation department, is to go to Stratford as sergeant in the uniform branch and will be in charge there.
