Variable Conditions
It was a beautifully fine day in Wellington on Saturday, with bright sunshine and a northerly breeze. Rain fell on Saturday night and Sunday morning was overcast. In the afternoon a southerly squall blew up and there was a shower of rain. The wind moderated later and the weather cleared. Ideal hot summer weather which prevailed at Auckland on Saturday was followed by heavy rain 'for a short period early yesterday morning, and fine weather but cloudy conditions, the wind being light and variable on both weather at Christchurch during the week-end was dull. On Saturday there were heavy passing clouds and rain fell in the evening. On Sunday again conditions were cloudy with a chilly southerly wind. Light Intermittent rain fell at Dunedin on Saturday, conditions generally being unsettled. The wind was light from the south-east.
