WAYS WITH COFFEE
Jelly. Alake one pint of fairly strong sweetened milk coffee, using coffee essence, and add sufficient gelatine to set. ‘ Pour into hollow mould and when required turn out and fill centre with whipped cream flavoured with vanilla, and to whicli had been added some chopped glace cherries and pineapple. Shortbread. Beat to a cream i lb, butter and 1 lb. sugar, add 1 tablespoon coffee essence, and work in 1 lb. flour. Knead well, roll out 1-3 inch thick, cut in fingers, and place almond on each. Bake very slowly to cook crisp right through.
