Wanganui, Jan. 21.
■ The stage is now set for the arrival of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and his famous monoplane, which is due to arrive in Wanganui to-morrow morning at 10.30 a.m. from Hastings. The arrangements in connection with the visit are now complete and the only requirement to be filled is a fine day. He will be escorted to the aerodrome by FlyingOfficer lan Keith, instructor to the Western Federated Flying Clubs. In conjunction with Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s visit, the Waiiganui River Carnival will hold their regatta from off Landguard Bluff, and this fixture is also attracting great interest. No fewer than 25 motor-boat speed-boats will be competing, six being from Wellington. The first speed-boat race will be at 12 noon.
