BRIDGE PARTY
Aid for Free Ambulance An enjoyable bridge party- in aid of the funds of the Wellington Free Ambulance was held recently at the Hotel Mana, Plimmerton. The prizes, donated by Mrs. W. 'Martin, were won by Mrs. F. Roffe (ladies’ prize), Mrs. Powell (ladies’ consolation prize), Mr. Williams (men’s prize), Miss Hutchins (men’s consolation prize), and Mrs. 0. Ashton (hidden number). Dainty refreshments were provided by the ladies. During the evening Mr. R. L. Button, a member of the Ambulance Board, conveyed the thanks of the board to Mrs. W. Martin, who organised the evening, to Mrs. Nimmo for the use of the room, to Mr. Swanson, who acted as M.C., and to all others who had assisted In any way in making the function the success it was.
' A competition conducted during the evening was won by Mrs. Harper. The funds of the Free Ambulance will benefit to the extent of £B/5/-.
