CAMPS FOR CHILDREN
To Benefit Their Health APPEAL FOR ASSISTANCE An appeal to people throughout New Zealand to help toward the maintenance of children’s health camps, was made by the Minister of Health, Hon. J. A. Young, in a statement issued yesterday. “With the approach of school holidays, providing a period of rest, play and recuperation for the minds and bodies of the young generation, one’s thoughts turn to consider how far these ideals will lie put into effect,” Mr. Young said. “In these difficult days of unemployment and restricted resources of parents it is a source of extreme satisfaction to me as Minister of Health to know that arrangements are well in hand to deal with a large number of the most needy cases. “Never before has there been such activity in establishing children's health camps. At Auckland, Hamilton, Wanganui, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill, this great humanitarian work has taken a hold. This is a work which convinces all its observers of its wonderfully practical value and I would like to tender my warmest' thanks to all those publicspirited citizens who are giving their time and money to help the children.
