NO GO-SLOW TACTICS
Auckland Relief Works REPUDIATED BY MEN By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Dee. 14. There appears no evidence that the “go slow” order issued by the Unemployed Workers’ Executive is being heeded by many. On the contrary, a meeting of Ila relief workers on one city council job this morning passed a resolution repudiating “go slow” tactics, and this is believed to be the attitude of the great majority of the others. PROTEST AT HAMILTON Effect of Pay Reductions By Telegraph—Press Association. Hamilton, Dec. 14. The Hamilton relief workers downed tools this morning and waited on the representatives of the Labour Department, protesting against the cuts in the relief pay. The spokesman held that the unemployed at Hamilton would not be responsible for their actions if something was not done to remedy the plight they were in. The men resumed work later. MEETING AT PETONE About 200 relief workers of I’etone assembled in the Labour Hall yesterday to protest against the cuts in relief pay.
