RECIPROCAL TRADE
U.S. With Canada & Britain SENATOR’S PROPOSAL Washington, Dec. 12. Steps to advance his proposal for reciprocal trade treaties with Canada and Great Britain are under contemplation by Senator Hull (Democrat), of Tennessee. He hopes to take them up shortly after the Christmas recess. The effect of the Ottawa Conference, said Senator Hull to newspapermen was to restrict world trade as a whole instead of encouraging expansion. “I think it was unfortunate for Britain to be forced into the policy we had pro mulgated and led the world into by our increased tariff rates. lam hopeful. of focusing attention on my proposal, and I believe we can advance it after the Christmas recess.”.
