Retail Prices in City Shops STONE FRUITS PLENTIFUL During the past week' many alterations have taken place in the prices of fruit and vegetables. All the stone fruits are now in the shops. Eating peaches are selling at from Sd to lOd a pound, with the cooking variety at 4d to 6d. and apricots are cheaper at 6d to lOd. Cherry plums and Wright’s Early plums are in good supply at 3d to 4d, and black currants are now in at 6d to Bd. Strawberries are cheaper at fid to 1/9 a punnet, a fall of about sd. The shipment of island tomatoes which came in after last week s price list had been issued are selling at fid a P °Onlons are cheaper at 2d to 3d a pound, and new potatoes have also shown a falling tendency. Green peas, on the other hand, have advanced from 81b for 1/- to 4 and 61b a shilling. Butter has risen a penny a pound to Hd, and eggs hare advanced from 1/- to 1/3 a dozen.
