SEASON CONCLUDES
Operatic “Hiawatha” In fitting fashion. “Hiawatha,” one* of the best amateur productions seen in Wellington for some time, concluded its season at the Town Hall last evening. There was a, large attendance at the special request performance which concluded the season. The main body of the hall was nearly filled, and the gallery seats were popular also. When the final curtain was run down, the audience did not hesitate to express its appreciation of the efforts of ail concerned, and special tributes were paid to a number of the performers. The standard attained in the presentation of “Hiawatha” in operatic form reflected great credit upon the producer, Mr. Harison Cook, and upon the musical director, Mr. John Bishop. The members of the Royal Wellington Choral Union who filled the cast gave a successful and artistic rendering which will not be quickly forgotten.
