SERIOUS CHARGE
Chemist at Christchurch By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Dec. 12. A nianufajeturing chemist. George William Bettel. aged 45, was charged before Mr. E.U. Mosley. S.M., to-day with unlawfully using an instrument The Chief Detective, in asking for a remand, said he opposed bail, as the girl concerned was critically ill in hospital. A remand until December 20 was granted, bail being refused.
