DUNEDIN CITY RATES
Payments for This Year Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, Dec. 9. December 21 is the final date for payment of the Dunedin city rates, those unpaid after that day being subject to a 10 per cent, penalty. The amount to be collected by the city corporation this year is £275,645, this being for twelve months ending March 31 next. The total last year was £304.311. Up till yesterday £55,000 had been paid at tlie town hall, and it is anticipated I hat steady payments will be njade during the next week. As the general rule over 50 per cent, of the total is received during the last few days, and the usual eleventh-hour rush is expected this year.
