Referring to the record slow voyage of the sailing ship Beacon Rock, a Masterton Special Service message stated recently that Mr. A. Clemas, of Masterton, was probably the only surviving member of this remarkable voyage of 30 years ago. Another member of the Beacon Rock’s crew states that in addition to Mr- Clemas he knows of three other , members of the crew who are at presentin’ ’New Zealand. These are Mr. Williams, who was one of thd, officers ;.Mr. Wood, of the permanent staff of the Wellington Harbour Board, who was an apprentice on the vessel; and Mr. P. Kreyl, of Petone, who was steward.
