NATIONAL FLOWER SHOW

Big Event in January The National Flower Show, which will be held in Wellington on January 26 and 27. 1933, promises to be the greatest horticultural show ever held in New Zealand. Numerous trade displays, begonias, carnations, dahlias, gladioli, hydraugas, rock plants, cut flowers, native plants, sweet peas, roses and fruit are among the entries, which include many competitive displays ' to 100 square feet each. Non-competitive classes include a great citrus exhibit, model, landscape gardens, florists’ and seedmen’s exhibits, nursery district exhibits, flax; tobacco, and forestry products. Children’s entries will be to the fore. Over 1000 entries have been received from school children for the gladioli children’s class. It is possible that the show will be held in the Winter Exhibition Buildings, so that ample space will be available for all entries. Conferences of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture. New Zealand Horticultural Trades’ Association, Horticultural Seedmen’s Association of New Zealand. Association of Directors of Parks and Reserves, and the Hutt Valley and Wellington Horticultural Societies will be held during the same week.
