Dannevirke Hospital MEMORIAL TABLET Dominion Special Service. Dannevirke, Nov. 17. A memorial tablet to the foundation members of the institution was unveiled at the Dannevirke Public Hospital ou Wednesday by the mayor, Mr. M. D. Smith. The hospital was founded in November, 1903, by Messrs. Henry Carlson, John Drummond, A. L. Gordon, George WTatt, Dr. Reid Mackay and Pastor Ries. Dr. Mackay and Pastor Ries were tbe originators of the movement for the establishment of a public hospital and convened a public meeting on May 26, 1903, when strong committees were set up. The first medical superintendent was Dr. Mackay, while tbe original staff consisted of a matron and two nurses.
