GIFT TEA
Mrs. Hain Entertains . Mrs. C. H. Hain, “St. Iver,” Karori, entertained a .number Of friends on Friday afternoon to a gift tea in honour of Mrs. A. R. F. Mackay, who will leave early in November to take up her residence in England. Bowls of Iceland poppies were in the drawing-room. Mrs. Hain received her guests wearing a cornflower blue suede lace frock. Mrs. Mackay wore brown diagonal-striped crepe' de chine frock with brown sailor straw hat. During the afternoon an amusing competition was won by Mrs. Ross, who also gave a recitation. After afternoon tea the guest of honour opened a number of very dainty gifts, and then was presented with a novelty bouquet. Others present were: Mesdaraes D. Wilson, R. Green, C, C. Wiren, Eraser R. Waghorn, H. Wilkinson, AV. Matbieson, G. Wallace, F. Blaney, J. Knight, S. Beckingsale, W. Ross, and Miss J. Sutherland.
