Awards for bravery were made today by the court of directors of the Royal Humane Society as follow:— Godfrey James Healey, of Governor's Bay, aged 26, who rescued Joseph N. Manhire from drowning at Governor’s Bay on August 14, 1931 —Letter of commendation.
James Kean, St. Albans, aged 18, who rescued Mrs. Beatrice Doris Stevens from drowning at New Brighton on February 14, 1932 —Framed certificate. James Leonard Johnson, of Waitaki Hydro, aged 36, who rescued Rymela Adolph Grimwood from drowning in the Waitaki River on August 6, 1932— Bronze medal.
