Children’s Matinee Entertainment

On Saturday afternoon there was a splendid entertainment by children given lu the Concert Chamber in aid of the Free Kindergarten.

The Wellington College orchestra played the overture and entr’acte and a prologue was given by June Irving. Dancing and other items began the programme. Then followed a small fairy play entitled “Elfem Hill” by Naomi Mltchieson, produced by Mrs. V. Lloyd. Further dancing and items took place after the whole programme and were most entertaining. Those who took part included Constance, Lucy, Audrey Newson, Zelda Corkill, Loma M eKercher, Joyce Knighton, Joan Kaywood, Margaret McDonald, A’eleska Jenkins. Joy Brown, Maureen Gallagher, Ngaire Bynam, Joan Rea, Ngaire Corkill, Alex Grant,, Thelma Bartholomew, Jocelyn AA’alker, Joan Nees, Una Weiler, Beryl Richardson, Joan Ralne, Joan Benge, Alys Sugden, Constance Chambers, Jean Cerchi, Betty Capper, Dorothy Daniels,' June Beavbn, Nola Clarke.

Those in the play were: June Irving, Eleanor Luke. Annette Vickery and Pat Holmes, Teddie Creed, Bettina Lloyd, Lyall Holmes, Judy Luke, Jean Annand-Smith, Pat Holmes and Annette. Vickery, Geoffrey Lloyd. Miss O’Brien’s pupils provided the dancing and the accompanist was Mrs. L. AValker.
