GIRLS AT CRICKET
Win for Technical College The first, women’s inter-club cricket match of the season was played at. Pirie Street recreation ground on Saturday between the Technical College girls’ first eleven and a team from the newly-formed St. John's Bible Class Girls’ Club. The Technical College girls have been playing cricket for some years, but this is the first time a first eleven has been formed. Play in the past has been confined to interhouse matches The game was watched by a crowd of spectators. St. John's won the toss and batted first, and scored 40 runs in the first innings, Miss M. Moore being the highest, scorer with 13. Technical College Girls replied with a score of 43, J. Hay 13. St. John’s were dismissed in. the second innings for 28. and Technical, Girls, scoring 27 for two (P. Cooke 15 not out. J. Hay 10 not out), had an eight wickets win.
