A. “spring clean,” which has lasted for 10 years, ended recently in London when the delicate carved work of the Henry VII. Chapel at the east end of the Westminster Abbey was revealed in nil its original beauty. The chapel has been regarded since its construction, just before the Reformation, as one of the arehiteetural masterpieces of England. The famous assembly rooms at Bath, erected under the direction of Beau Nash, are among the acquisitions made recently by the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty. This property, nlong with Montacute House in Somerset—built in the Inst two years of the 16th century--has l been secured to the British nation by the generosity of an unknown Englishman.
