PARTY HOPEFUL
Gold in Marlborough
A party of gold seekers has been working the territory around Canvastown, between Blenheim and Nelson, for some months past, and although results have only been fair up to the present, they have been good enough to encourage the party to “hang on in the hope of doing better. At the end of last week two small nuggets of alluvial gold were received by a member of the Newtown Bowling Club from Mr. E. Newson, a member of the club. He wrote that the winter had been a hard one, but later results had decided them to carry on. as they believed the prospects to be good.
