Treated thus, silver-polish will never be required. If corks which are liable to stick arc rubbed with glycerine, they can always be removed from the bottle without breaking. To prevent glass or china from cracking when a hot liquid is poured into it. stand the vessel on a wet cloth, and there will be no risk of damage. l\’o soda or strong washing-powder should be used to wash gilt-trimmed china, or the gilt will fade away.
