CLEANING COMBS
One of the most troublesome small jobs in a house is that, of cleaning the family’s combs. A good idea is to cut a knot of tape into convenient lengths, join at one end, make a loop of tape, and stitch it to the joined strips, so that the miniature “cat’-o’-uine-tails” can be hung from a hook or projecting nail to give leverage. Before use, dip it in warm soapy water. Then rub the comb up and down through the strips. It forms a perfect cleanser, getting right up to the bar of the comb. It costs one penny and lasts for years.
