NEWTOWN CROQUET CLUB
Opening of Season The Newtown. Croquet Club officially opened its season last week. There was a good attendance of members. TTie president, Miss Petersen, called on Mrs. Underwood, the club’s first president, to drive the first ball through the hoop, and. declared the greeu open. Afterwards competitions were held, and afternoon tea was served. Mrs. Remington, a life member of the club, who was unavoidably absent, forwarded a competitive cup for level 'play on the B ladder. The gift was suitably acknowledged.
