THANKS OF FARMERS
Sir Francis Boys’s Services WORK AT OTTAWA The valuable services which Sir Francis Boys rendered at the Ottawa Conference as head of the New Zealand pastoral delegation at the conference was referred to by the president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, Mr. W. J. Polson, at the meeting of the Dominion Executive of the union yesterday. Mr. Polson said he was not one of those who believed that the Ottawa Conference was going to solve all the world’s ills. It was not possible to hold out great hopes for the farmers of this country as the outcome of the conference, but it was satisfactory to know that the pendulum was now swinging in the right direction. ,He moved that a hearty vote of thanks be conveyed to Sir Francis Boys for the valuable services he had given to farmers’ interests at Ottawa. Mr. W. Morrison, in seconding the motion, said that Sir Francis Boys knew as much about the meat question as any man in the Dominion, and he had done great service to farmers in the Dominion in fixing the quota of supplies to the London market. The motion was carried.
