A Failure and a Success RELIEF FUND EFFORTS The concert given in aid of the Mayor’s relief fund by unemployed musicians on June 21 was a failure, stated the Mayor at a meeting of the finance committee of the City Council last evening. The receipts amounted to £9/15/- and the expenditure was £23 12/-. As Messrs. P. Brady and G. Ellwood were personally liable, he proposed that they be allowed to retain the whole of the receipts, instead of the council taking half the proceeds as arranged. This was agreed to by the council. The receipts for the fashion parade organised by Messrs. Klrkcaldie and Stains in the Concert Chamber yestetr day afternoon amounted to £3O, the whole of which goes to the Mayor’s relief fund.
