SEVERE COLD SNAP
South-Eastern Australia SNOW IN MANY PLACES (Rec. August 15, E. 5 pan.) Sydney, August 15. a severe cold snap is reported In Eastern and Southern New South Wales and Victoria, with snowfalls In many places. The Mount Lofty ranges in South Australia had a light covering, a rarity in that State. Blue Mountains centres report two to three inches of snow, and travellers on the Kosciusko to Cooma and Canberra roads were held up by drifts.
