FRUIT FOR THE EAST

New Zealand Publicity INFORMATIVE BOOKLET Following upon the movement in various directions to establish additional trade connections between New Zealand and the East, the Fruit Export Control Board has issued a compact booklet for the purpose of advertising Dominion fruit products with particular application to their suitability for marketing in the East: Facts and figures concerning production and the type of fruit grown are 'given, and there are excellent illustrations in, colour of typical New Zealand-grown apples. The booklet also contains a map showing trade routes and potential markets. The board has been endeavouring for some time to extend its markets, and it is likely that its latest publication Will prove a valuable aid to trade advertising. A prominent trader interested in New Zealand exports stated in an interview yesterday that New Zealand should be able to market large quantities of meat and dairy produce in the East, and he said the Dairy Board and the Meat Board had an opportunity at the present time to develop a. valuable trade apart from the well-defined market at present being supplied in Great Britain. Reports from China and Japan " as welj as from other Eastern countries indicated- that primary produce was ' saleable in large quantities, and Australia had already taken advantage of the markets offering there.. It was to be hoped, he said, that the other export boards would at least investigate the possibility of extending our trade in primary products to the East.
