AMATEUR ATHLETICS
New Club Suggested SECONDARY SCHOOL BOYS It is hoped that as a result of a movement initiated by Mr. P. G. Thomson, physical instructor at Wellington College, that a new amateur athletic club will soon be formed in Wellington. The club would draw its membership from old boys of the various secondary schools and would so’ do much to keep schoolboy athletes in the game. In the past the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre, and the amateur athletic body as a whole, have been exercised from time to time over the fact that many promising schoolboy athletes drop out of the game when their school days come to an end. The new club should do much to prevent this and to ensure for amateur athletics that none of the Dominion’s talent, at least in Wellington, would be wasted.
