Donations to Distress Funds ELECTION OF OFFICERS Two contributions, each of £25, were made to the Mayor’s Relief Distress Fund and the City Mission respectively by the New Zealand Club at Its annual meeting held last evening. Canon J. H. Sykes, who presided, gald that on the whole the club had had a successful year. He was sure that the institution had provided something well worthy of membership. He himself had been a member for more than 20 years and had derived considerable pleasure from his associations. He thanked the committee for its loyal support and co-operation. In referring to the death of Mr. J. Hislop, C.V.0., 0.8. E., Canon Sykes said that deceased had been a life member of the club and at one time a president. His death was a severe blow to all who knew him. An appropriate message of sympathy had been sent to Mrs. Hislop. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr. E. P. Hay; vicepresidents, Messrs. W. M. Wright and S. W. Fearn; committee, Drs. C. E. Adams and C. G. Morice, Messrs. E. S. Baldwin, J. S. Bennett, J. M. Dale, A. L. Hunt, E. W. A. Kellow, J Mclntosh, F S. Pope, and G. A. Kennedy; hon. auditors, Mr. C. S. Falconer; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. P. Lambert.
