HEAVY SELLING
New York Stock Market New York, August 12. The heaviest barrage of selling that the market has seen for some time swept the list at closing hour to-day with extreme net losses of from one to five dollars in pivotal issues and more than twelve dollars in some recent speculative favourites. This was accompanied by a drop'of more than two cents a bushel in wheat and a sharp reaction in cotton. Bonds held fairly firm. Transactions amounted to 3,500,0(H) shares. .
