Success of Artiglio’s Divers NEARLY A TON SALVAGED (Rec. June 26, 5.5 p.m.). London, June 25. Nearly a ton of gold has been salvaged from the sunken P. and O. liner Egypt by the Artiglio’s divers. The average value of each shot of the grab was about £50,000, and six shots were made hourly. The salvage continues steadily all day long in the port end of the bullion room. , , ■ , . _ 'Che apparatus worked without a hitch. best single haul was seventeen bars and nearly 1000 sovereigns.
