PRODUCTIVE HERDS
, Big Butter-fat Records Levin, April 13. At the field day of the Horowhenua Jersey Breeders’ Club, held recently, an inspection of Messrs. Hudson’s and Lancaster’s farms was of paramount interest to every member of the party/ particularly in the 'matter of the weil-cared-for Jersey cattle that were on view and their production value. Two of Mr. Hudson’s cows have produced up to 637 and 6761 b fat in the season, and another two-year-old heifer gave 5001 b fat. On Mr. Lancaster’s farm five cows and heifers last season averaged 5811 b of fat per beast. There is certainly a silver lining to the clouds when one has stock of this kind to turn into the bails.
