Southland Board’s Year £130,000 RECEIVED By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, April 12. The very satisfactory position of the Southland Electric Power Board, as disclosed in a report by the secretary on the fiscal year just ended, was referred, to at a meeting of the board to-day. “I feel that it is only right that I should express the deep appreciation of the board at the very generous support accorded to it by consumers in the country districts,” said Mr. 'E. Bowmar. "I do not think that when we prepared the estimates we thought that the revenue would equal last year’s total. The report reveals that our consumers have stood by us. “A pleasing feature is the splendid co-operation which prevails from the heads of the departments down. All have given excellent service." Mr. W. Hinchey . said that the board’s position was more than satisfactory. The fact that £130.000 had been received from the sale of electricity and other sources in the present abnormal times was indeed wonderful It was equal to £2 per bead of the population.
