An exhibition was recently staged in which motor-cars and gowns were displayed together. This is what appeared in the “Jlotor” about it: — To attract Hve an<l Adam an excellent plan The above auto-fashion parade is. For motors will draw any average man While dresses will draw all the ladies. Tet see what this new exhibition has done, Such misunderstanding to smother, By describing the principal styles of the one Tn the technical terms of the other. For instance, an open-topped dress Is proclaimed At. this show as a “Sunshine Roof” gown. While another affair "Shock-Absorber” is named For gate-crashing girls about town. And here arc some others: "Jfagneto” doth vie With sparkling and flashy “Ignition”: For "Battery” gowns all the charges are high—- . They've "Hydrometer” waists. In addition Somes names describe engine performance, c.g., “Popping-back” wear for mistletoe kissing. But no man has so far been permitted to sec The exiguous gown they call "Missing!”
