Grass-stains may be removed from canvas shoes by the application of a spoonful of peroxide of hydrogen to iohich a few drops of ammonia have been added., Wash off with tepid water, "j ‘ , Silk articles are apt to show ironmarks very rapidly. This can bo prevented by placing a piece of white paper beneath the iron moving it about as required. This is much quicker and easier than ironing it through a cloth. After boiling clothes, the copper should be scrubbed with a stiff brush to remove the curd formed by hard water and soap, otherwise this will stick to the clothes next washing-day. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
