South Island Meeting CHAMPION BELT TO BARKER By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, March 26. --.•The South Island Ritle Association’s meeting was concluded to-day in perfect shooting weather. The South Island grand aggregate was won by A. R. Barker (Ronga), 343, taking £3 and the champion belt. T. Carter (Nelson) and W1 Kenning (Nelson) each scored 341, •' Carter winning the shoot-off. _ The Stewart Dawson Cup, for the highest score, 10 shots at 6(K> yards, was won by A. R. Barker (49) after a shootoff with J. W. Paynter (Blenheim) and C. Eden (Wairau). The Stead Tyro Cup was annexed by C. Eden (289) after a slioot-off with L. Rogers (Wairau). ■ The teams’ match was won by Nelson A (479), and the service match, 10 shots at 300 yards rapid, by H. V. Searle (Nelson) with a score of 31. 11. L. Frank (Nelson) was second and W. Mitchcner (Nelson) third. The elry was not up to expectations. No North Island marksmen competed, and the only contestants were from the Nelson and Marlborough districts.
