Events at Paremata Two races for first and . second-class yachts were sailed at I’aremata during the week-end, a light sou -west wind preTailing. Added interest was given to the first-class events by the fact that the new Lavina was taking partsuits, with handicaps and actual sailing times, are given as follow: — first-class Handicap. Shirley, with R. Whitcombe (Evans Bay) and M. Gilligan (Heretaunga) won the first race, and Waitui, with M. Gilligan (Heretaunga) and E. Julian (Evans Bay), won the second race. The sole selector. his selection of a crew will probably be confirmed. WORSER BAY CLUB The Worser Bay Boating Club held a race on Saturday afternoon, the winner being Demon. Ngaru (iniin.) was late in starting and finished last. Ngaroma (4min.) sailed a good race and gained second place by some good spimiaker work. Next away were O.K. Baby. Kea, and Demon. with,2min. each. O.K. Baby hung on well behind Demon and was placed third. The scratch boats, Butterrib and Kiwi, were giving away a little too much time, but the handicapping was sufficiently good to allow the first six boats to finish within 4min. of each other.
