Possibility of French Aid DEADLOCK NOW REACHED Geneva, September 2. The discussions between Austria, France, and Germany with a view to adjusting Customs Union differences to enable France financially to assist Austria have broken down. It Is a momentous issue, for Austria is on the verge of bankruptcy. Only France is able to help Austria, and her offers are qualified by a request for an undertaking to abandon the Customs Union. France demands complete renunciation on political grounds.
