Satisfactory Season The Petone Rifle Club, In its annual renort recorded last season as being tne most successful since 1007, when Ballinger won the New champion ship belt outright. The membership had Increased and competition on the range had been very keen. Three members, W. H. Ballinger, W. Mclver, and R H. Nicho 1, had to shoot off for the championship shield and T. Chapman and E. Veitch for fh<x H cra.de cup. In the championsihp shoouoffi R H Nlcholl and W. H. Ballinger tied again. The former ultimately won, fhus being champion of the chib for the fourth time. Chapman won the shoot-off in the B grade. The C grade championship was won by F. Harris, a new member. At the National Rifle Association meeting a member of the club (W. J.. the New Zealand championship (Ballinger Belt) Other Important successes were gained at the meeting, including >two possibles (800 and 900 yards) by E. Ballinger. Considering the depression, the finances of the club were regarded as satisfactory.
