A motor-lorry conveying a team to Eketahuna to participate in a tug-of-war competition there recently met with an accident on the main Pahlatua-Eketahuna highway In the vlcipity of Hamua. When near a small concrete bridge a car approached from the opposite direction, the driver of the lorry in giving way to It pulled too far over, with the result that the lorry skidded off the road and capsized in the creek in about two feet of water. All the occupants escaped injury. The manager of the Masterton branch of the Union Bank of Australia, Mr. W. E. G. Paqualin, has been notified of his appointment as manager of the Wanganui branch. His successor will be Mr. W. T. iT.vine, who is manager of the Waipukurau branch. Mr. Paqualin came to Masterton three and a halt years ago. He has been actively associated with the Masterton Amateur Theatrical Society, the Masterton Golt Club, and the Masterton Savage Club.
