SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
Seafarers were provided with a most enjoyable concert by Mr. D. Roache, at the Sailors’ Friend Society on Tuesday evening. A large number were present; and appreciated the items which were given by Misses D. Seymour and M. Orntrod, and Messrs. Urwin, Spooner, Fitzroy, Robson, D. Rbache, Edlin, Tully, Pearce, Houston, and L. Peters. Mr. J. Moore spoke on “Something to Sing About.” The prizes for the competitions came from Mr. E. Johnson, and went to the Rangitane and the men awaiting ships.
