SOCIAL SERVICE CLUB
Victoria College Students The Victoria University College Social Service Club recently paid a visit to Villa Rauta at the Porlrua Mental Hospital, when the patients were entertained to a fine programme arranged by the Students’ Christian Movement. After the concert a dance was held, Noel Liardet's orchestra supplying the necessary music. The club has made 1-1 visits during the month of August. Throe afternoon visits were paid to each the Borstal Institution and the Mental Hospital, three concerts were taken to the Mental Hospital, one to the Ewart Hospital, one to the Borstal, and an evening party was taken to eaeli of the three homes run by the Child Welfare . authorities. A basketball team was taken out from Victoria College to play the girls at the Borstal on two of the visits.
The club’s programme for the coming month is again full, there being about a dozen visits to Hie various homes in and around Wellington.
